The Calgary Flames were without one of their top defenceman against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
Calgary ruled Kevin Bahl out with a lower-body injury shortly before puck drop and announced that Joel Hanley would enter the lineup in his place.
It is unclear when Bahl suffered the injury, as the 25-year-old blue-liner played 20:51 in the Flames' overtime loss to the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday.
Bahl had played in all 16 of Calgary's games this season, averaging 21:56 of ice time per night while collecting one goal and one assist.
Hanley, meanwhile, had appeared in one game for the Flames this season before Friday. The 35-year-old had seven assists in 68 games for Calgary in 2025-26.
